Wall folding
Presented for the first time during the exhibition “L’(H)ALU!” as part of the Biennale Hors-Normes of contemporary art in Lyon, the wall folding artwork is an innovation resulting from a collaboration desired by the artist with a printing expert.
The concept ? Ink crumpled aluminum foil to crumpled aluminum foil anchored to the wall. A cascading perspective, a dialogue between the two works which come to life together, through fusion.
"The support, at once solid, light and malleable, allows me to propose a new way of conceiving the hanging of a work. Multidimensional, it takes shape and comes to life on the wall thanks to folding, infinitely mouldable, "work becoming evolving as desired. Wall folding becomes a new way of thinking and sculpting space and time: either we freeze it, or we play with its distortion by contracting or stretching it", explains Michèle-Amélie Favre (aka Sensartistik).
If the shape of the folding can change over time depending on the desires of its purchaser, the shine and appearance of aluminum are timeless.
